British Superbike Championship Showdown Events

The British Superbike Championship Showdown events kicked off at Oulton Park yesterday (17th September 2018) in mixed weather conditions.

Jake Dixon (pictured above) and his Kawasaki team, who were supported by JT Sprockets and Hiflofiltro, began the races in the best way possible with two dominant rides, and then won both races. This reduced Leon Haslam's lead in the title race down to 31 points from 45.

Jake topped the leaderboard throughout the weekend in both dry and wet sessions - he even set the fastest ever lap of the 2.69 mile circuit - 1 minute 33 seconds and 758 milliseconds. On this lap he took pole position by 0.399 seconds.

Due to heavy rain, race 1 was cut from 18 laps to 16 laps. Jake Dixon made an excellent start, shadowing the early leader Tommy Bridewell before moving into the lead half way through the race and winning by 6.1 seconds.

The weather stayed dry for the second race, and Jake won this race also, despite some nervous moments when his rear tyre lost grip earlier in the race.

We wish Jake all the best in his next round which will be at the Assen 'Cathedral of Speed' circuit on the 30th September in the Netherlands.
