WASHINGTON, D.C. - Suzuki Motor of America Inc. is recalling more than 23,000 GSX-R750 and GSX-R1000 motorcycles because the drive chain could detach under certain riding conditions. An immediate recall has been announced
"If a gear is missed while changing up, the pressure applied to the drive chain after the next gear change may cause the rear axle to move, damaging the left-side drive chain adjuster," the recall informs. "If the drive chain adjuster gets damaged, the drive chain may come off, removing power to the rear wheel and increasing the risk of a crash."
The NHTSA campaign number for this recall is 14V-629000. It affects 23,073 motorcycles of the following models:
- GSX - R1000, model year 2009 through to 2014
- GSX - R750, model year 2011 through to 2014
Suzuki Dealers are asked to replace the left-side chain adjuster. Suzuki is notifying owners.
If you know a GSXR Pilot pass on the above data ASAP
