British Superbikes Championship at Oulton Park

The May bank holiday weekend saw Oulton Park in Cheshire hosting the third round of the MCE Insurance British Superbikes championship. JT and Hiflofiltro products were well represented as usual with the Eurosport coverage using the RAF Regulars and Reserves race truck as a back drop, providing great exposure for the JT brand. Our thanks go to Lee Hardy and all his team for their hard work.

On the track the TAG Racing Anvil hire Yamaha rider Josh Brookes scored consistent results finishing with 7th and 6th places and holding on to his excellent fourth position in the championship. His team mate Shaun Winfield had a difficult weekend, scoring a 21st place finish in race 1 and finishing just outside the points in 18th position in race 2. Other notable rides include 12th and 13th place finishes for Jakub Smrz on his Lloyd and Jones PR Racing BMW and a 10th position in race 1 for the RAF Regular and Reserves rider Jake Dixon.

In the National Superstock 1000s race Jakub’s brother, and Lloyd and Jones PR Racing BMW team mate, Matej Smrz came home in 9th position. Whilst in the Superstock 600 class Jack Kennedy had a great weekend on his Team GAC logistics MV Agusta taking a 3rd and a 5thplace, well done Jack. Congratulations also to the Wigley boys, Kurt and Matt, who put in strong performances throughout the weekend in the Supersport and Superstock classes respectively.

The Ducati Tri-options Cup saw Joe Collier on the Boast Plumbing Panigale cement his lead in the championship with two first place finishes. Joe leaves Oulton Park with an 8.5 point championship lead after just three rounds and our congratulations go out to him and his team.

Next round of the championship is at Knockhill on the 16th to the 18th of June.
